Dr. Rachel Alex was named the Executive Director of Leadership Development. She brings over 25 years of experience in education to her new position with Aldine ISD.
She most recently served as the Senior Education Specialist for Leadership at ESC Region 4, where she led the development and coordination of professional learning and support for principals, assistant principals, and campus and district leaders. She was a member of the Texas Turnaround Taskforce, Region 4 School Improvement Team, Texas Instructional Leadership (TIL) Provider, and an Effective Schools Framework (ESF) Diagnostic Provider.
As a former turnaround principal of a Title I school, she knows first-hand the burgeoning challenges that leaders face against the backdrop of high-stakes testing with limited resources. She has a wealth of knowledge for leaders looking to capitalize on research-based practices and coaching strategies that impact leadership capacity to maximize teacher efficacy that increases student performance.
Dr. Alex received her Bachelor’s degree from Lamar State University, a Master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, and a Doctorate from the University of Houston, Clear Lake.
